Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Tire Questions

Q How do I know what size tire to buy?

A

The tire size should be in the owner's manual. You should keep the same size as recommended by the manufacturer unless you've previously changed the size before.

Q How much air do I put in my tire?

A

The manufacturer's recommended tire pressure can be found on the Tire Information Placard on the driver's side door jamb. We recommend you keep a tire gauge in your glove compartment and check your tire's air pressure every other time you fill your car with gas.

Q I ran over a nail, do I need to replace my tire?

A
It depends. If the nail is close to the edge of the tire or on the sidewall, it cannot be patched and will need to be replaced. If the nail is in the center and it still has good tread, it can be patched and will still be just as reliable.

Q How often should I rotate my tires?

A
Each tire is different. Some tires need to be rotated between 6,000 and 8,000 miles while others need to be rotated sooner. We recommend having your technician check your tires at every oil change.

Q How will I know when I need an alignment?

A
Some symptoms that you may notice that will indicate that you need an alignment are uneven tire wear and pulling to one side or the other. If you let go of the steering wheel and your car wanders to the side, you should bring your car in and get the alignment checked.
